Malta comes to life in summer bursting with activities and seasonal events. As a matter of fact, visitors to Malta are spoilt for choice with things to do.
During a festival which will be held on the 6th and 7th August 2011, organised by St. Mary’s Band Club together with sponsors of a local charity, one of the best Queen Tribute bands in the UK will be performing live in Malta.
The band consists of
- Jim Devereaux as Freddie Mercury
- Paul Smyth as Brian May
- Nick Maddock as Roger Taylor
- David Clarke as John Deacon and
- Jason Mercer as Spike Edney
This band has been the leading band at the Queen Convention for the past three years and is very popular amongst many Queen fans. Brian May’s guitar technician Greg Fryer provides this band with exclusive advise on important guitar sounds to provide authentic Queen music. They play a selection of over 50 classic Queen hits with about six costume changes in between. One of their most popular tribute pieces is the performance of ‘Rhapsody’ featuring many of the authentic and most acclaimed ‘Queen’ moves.
The band has performed all over Europe as well as in Chris Evan’s BBC Radio 2 show. They have a reputation for energising Queen fans with their shows and their concerts are generally a sell-out. The band, who is expected to arrive with all their equipment in Malta, are hoping to give one of the best shows on the island. The concert will be free of charge and will be held in aid of Puttinu Cares, a Children’s Cancer Support Group.
